New leaders of the 5th assembly have been appointed at the national convention of the National Youth Assembly of Nigeria.
This was disclosed by the Media Aid to the NYAN Speaker, Olanrewaju Fayese in a statement as made available to newsmen on Thursday here in Abuja.
The NYAN convention is a conference of all national youth leaders, past leaders, stakeholders and members of the Assembly.
He disclosed in his statement that Mr. Usman Shagari emerged as the unopposed national speaker, as all aspirant for speakership stepped down for him.
'Other national executives include Emmanuel Udomoh as the Deputy Speaker, Mani Suleiman as Majority Leader, Michael Ogunshola as Minority Leader, Philip Emmanuel as Chief Whip and Gabriel Odi as Deputy Chief Whip," he said.
As he quoted, the new speaker Shagari has assured the Assembly of his commitment to carry everyone along while working together to restructure and revive the assembly nationwide.
Mr. Shagari, shortly upon confirmation of the house, appointed David Benjamin as Clerk and Suleiman Adamu as Deputy Clerk of the Assembly.
He appreciated all ambassadors and leaders for their presence and efforts to see to it that that the sitting was successful.
